Peek into the world of a writer…

I’d planned on going to bed before 10:00 p.m. It’s after 11:00 p.m., and I’m nowhere near heading to bed anytime soon. Best laid plans. What happened?

I’m editing Leap of Faith Day. I love this story. I may have mentioned it, once or twice… I’ve also been so frustrated with how it hasn’t come along in a timely manner. Worse than jumping hurdles. Why?

While I wrote it a friend sent me the book Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger by John McDougall, Chaplain, U.S. Army Ranger. He described the Warrior Christ.

My sister and I have often discussed how Jesus is often watered down and made into milquetoast. He is all peace and love and turning the other cheek. She and I know down to our core He is much, much more. While others pictured Him as pristine and spotless, we saw him as spattered in mud as He pulls His sheep out of the muck and the mire.

Tonight, John graciously granted me permission to mention his book in Leap of Faith Day. The hero, Vince Timmons, had always seen Jesus as wimpy. He needed the Warrior Jesus who loved him so much He willingly allowed Himself to be put to death and then broke the bonds of death and was Resurrected, all for His lost sheep. Vince is a lost sheep. He needed a Warrior Jesus who hunted him down and wanted him because He loved him.

Now, I feel like the story is almost complete. I simply need to finish the edits.

Thank you, sir, for writing an inspiring book that touched my heart and blessed me with courage beyond my own.
