I found a few videos on coloring cloth with “scraps.” I tried avocado pits, turmeric and baking soda, and spinach.
Turmeric and Baking Soda: I put the muslin cloth in an empty spaghetti sauce jar, added turmeric, and poured boiling water over it. I poured in several spoonfuls of baking soda. It fizzed and almost spilled over. I smartened up and put the bottle in the kitchen sink. I added more baking soda, and it fizzed over. It’s a lovely brown. Soaked for a few hours.
Avocado pits: Boil for an hour. Remove debris. Soak cloth for 24 hours. A muted shade of mauve
Spinach: Light yellow after more than 24 hours and hardly noticeable, so change of plans…
Neon Food coloring: Fun!
It turned out okay but not so amazing it could make me want to use space on my blog for pictures. ๐
hahaha Your last sentence made me bust out laughing ๐ ๐ At least you tried something different, and seems you had fun with it.
