This is a continuation of last week’s story. Jesus was already being hunted and recognized the need for being discreet. We live in a world that shouts, “Look at me! Look at me!” Promoting self is a good thing, empowering, necessary to succeed. Embellishing and lying aren’t really bad things if they help you get ahead in life. Unless you find yourself face to face with God. Then it’s problematic. Jesus simply told the truth. Jesus was simply and gloriously Himself. His enemies wanted Him to be less because they were threatened by the truth.
John 7:10-11 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
Home is where the heart is and hence a movable feast. ~ Angela Carter
