Week Thirty-Four Feast

This is Jesus speaking before His ministry has begun. In this hurry up world, we’ve lost the art of timing. Instead of waiting patiently, we hurry, headlong into whatever we think is best. Jesus excelled at taking the opportunity to stop and spend time in prayer. He never rushed, a lesson we could all learn but too often overlook. Too often we prioritize lessons by our own standards instead of God’s. Sometimes, we need to feast on the pause, on prayer.

John 7:8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.

There is something old and true in fantasy that speaks to something deep within us, to the child who dreamt that one day he would hunt the forests of the night, and feast beneath the hollow hills, and find a love to last forever somewhere south of Oz and north of Shangri-La. — George R R Martin

  1. One of my favorite authors (Wendy Speake) is coming out with a book called The 40-Day Feast. But it won’t come out until January. So I don’t know if you would be interested then, since you will likely have picked a different word for 2023! Just in case you want to check it out, here is the link to Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/40-Day-Feast-Taste-Goodness-Gods/dp/1540901254/

    • Thanks for the heads up, Bridget!
