I’m learning to expand my perspective on what a feast means. A garden full of spring flowers, a sunrise/sunset, standing on the shore of the ocean, walking through the woods, and more are all feasts for the eyes. Beautiful music, the shushing of water kissing the shore, a storm, and more are all feasts for the ears. Soft blankets, velvet, satin, my dog’s fur, and more are feasts for the touch. Baking bread, roses, blooming star jasmine in the spring, the ocean, horses, baking cinnamon rolls, grilling beef, and more are feasts for the nose. And of course favorite and abundant food.
Exodus 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
A concert is always like a feast day to me. ~ James Taylor
