Proverbs 31:29-30 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
The first sentence is praise. I’m not comfortable with praise. I fear allowing it to go to my head because it has, in the past. I’m learning to keep my pride in check, but I don’t like testing it.
Which leads neatly into the next sentence. I know I struggle with things going my way going to my head. When I feel pretty I tend to allow pride to seep in; I lose focus on what matters.
Which leads to what comes next, what I need to do, what keeps my pride in check: Fearing the Lord, loving the Lord, trusting the Lord, putting the Lord first, front, center.
The rest are blessing given by the Lord.
