Proverbs 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
My first thought is charity, donating money and time. My next thought is that I find it interesting that poor and needy are listed separately. Aren’t they one in the same? Apparently not. The poor aren’t always needy, and the needy aren’t always poor.
In either case, it requires being aware of those around me. More importantly, I need to be aware of what they need not what I think they need. At the same time, I need to be aware of what I’m able to give.
Another important thing to remember is that it’s easier to give when I feel my needs are met. Double-edged sword: Often, when I give to others my needs are also met.
Cultivating an attitude of gratitude helps me feel like I have enough.
Very insightful post!
