I thought they were dead!

They’re alive! My comfrey seeds are alive!

Look what sprang up last week:

(Update: None survived, so I’m letting the pictures go.)

And this fun bonus is compliments of all the rain:

  1. For those new to the practice, the forks keep the cats from using the seedlings as a stool.

    • I wondered if I needed to mention that. 🙂

  2. To paraphrase Malcolm (played by the awesome Jeff Goldblum) in Jurassic Park: “Life finds a way.”

    • I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it. 🙂

  3. This makes me very happy! Also Jim was trying to figure out what they were planted in? Looks like little egg shapes made of leaves…….

    • Actually, I used a couple Jiffy Greenhouses, 12-count. The soil pellets are put in a tray, watered, and a lid put on top. A little greenhouse. They’re a peat soil pellet, wrapped in a fiber cloth, looks like a fine cheesecloth, that you simply plant once the seeds germinate.
