Memorial Day

Memorial Day is not about BBQs, picnics, or sales.

Thank you to all the families who endure the loss of someone they love because that person chose to serve their country and gave the ultimate sacrifice.

  1. I have to admit, I love seeing families out picnicking Memorial Day weekend. It’s not something my family did, yet it makes me weirdly nostalgic.

    • Me, too. I also love hearing about the families that gather together for BBQs. The long-held traditions bringing families together are representative of the freedoms we enjoy and the reason men and women are willing to sacrifice their lives to protect it. We didn’t have any special traditions for the holiday. I also didn’t know the meaning of the holiday. I’m learning, and I’m participating in traditions others have created. It’s never too late.
