As to being thankful, I’m not grateful for what happened to me. I am grateful I didn’t allow it to define me forever. I’m grateful I survived and didn’t give up. I am truly grateful whenever I’m able to help someone else because of what I’ve learned in my healing journey.
Interestingly enough, I rarely use “in spite of” in my writing. I never use irregardless and only rarely use regardless exactly because of what Scott talks about in his post.
