Sigh… my first cease and desist…

Does this mean I’ve hit the big time?

A pirate ebook site offered my books free. I had to take the time to report it to them (like they somehow didn’t know) and tell them to STOP IT! Only I sent a polite, legalese letter not a nasty one.

Anonymous narcissism.

They don’t know me. They don’t care about me. They want what they want no matter what it costs anyone else, especially the victim.

Sad.

The only books I’ve offered for free are The Project, here, which obviously anyone can access the chapters anytime, and Impossibilities, a “Prelude” short story to the Endless Possibilities series, which is free at Desert Breeze Publishing.

Instead of working on my current WIP, I’m informing these parasites they’re breaking the law.

Pirates are liars and cheats. No excuses.

If you should see my books offered for free and feel so inclined, please report the violation to the site or to me and I’ll contact the site with a Cease and Desist letter. Thank you.

  1. I know that photographers consider themselves in the big time when someone steals their photos to sell. You have arrived and worth every penny. Hoping the letter works.

    • So do I. :-/

  2. Sorry to hear that Judy, I hope it gets sorted without too much hassle. I agree with Ruth, that on the plus side, it means you have arrived πŸ˜‰ Let us know how it goes. xx

    • Thanks for the “bright side” comments. They make me laugh. This, of course, eases a lot of the stress. πŸ™‚

  3. Ugh. How un-fun.

    • Yes.

  4. So much not fun about this, but no matter how you pretty it up, theft is still theft, and not okay. Sorry to hear you’re having to expend energy on the parasites, but good for you for sticking up for your rights. Ughgh.

    • Learning to stand up for myself. πŸ™‚

  5. I hope this gets resolved. xx

    • They’ve posted a note that the title isn’t available due to a copyright issue. *eye roll*
