Team Froglogic radio show…

Last Saturday, David Rutherford’s show was about Trimming the Fat.

It started me thinking.

I have a lot of fat to trim from my life.

Yes, there’s weight, but David is very much about the overall person.

As I listened to him talk, I thought about how much of my day is spent dealing with distractions. However, when I’m editing, I’m totally focused. I love how much I accomplish when I’m focused.

To trim the fat, I need to decide what my priorities are.

Writing is a priority.

I don’t need to cut everything out. I need to accept responsibility for how I spend my time.

David challenges living life focused and disciplined.

I do, sort of.

I already wake up at the same time every day, except Sunday.

I exercise four days a week. I’m going to add Tuesday and Thursday on a lighter level. I’m wondering if I include those two days in the routine if it will help. I know how important routine is to me.

I’m doing much better at eating.

Experimenting won’t hurt. I’ll let you know how it goes.

  1. I like the idea of experimenting; changing things up a little bit. Routine and consistency is good, and helps us stay on track, but a pinch of experimentation might reveal unexpected results. Good luck! πŸ™‚

    • I hadn’t thought about what experimenting reveals… I had been thinking in terms of the result… now, I wonder if it will unearth some things I’ve been trying to hide… Thanks, ntexas99!

  2. Wow, this fits so completely with what I have decided to work on for the holidays. Thanks for giving me more tools to add to my ‘be-kind-to-myself-for-the-holidays.’

    • Brilliant minds… πŸ˜‰

  3. Love the ‘experimenting won’t hurt’. Looking forward to hearing how it goes. πŸ™‚

    • Current manuscript is coming along… not much else… One day at a time.
