Brain reset…

I think I’ve figured out a new eating habit. So far, so good.

I’m creating some interesting habits to help me shift my mind into writing. Good thing since I’m teaching it at a writer’s conference, next year.

Sleeping is better. Not perfect, but much better. Allowing myself to be awake at 2 am and not beat myself up over it or become frustrated has shortened my awake time. Who knew?

Exercise is a good habit, but I’m not so foolish as to think I don’t need to keep working at it and stay on top of it. When I’m tired, it’s easy for me to be lazy about it.

I’m learning to let go of books I don’t enjoy rather than battle them to the bitter end in the hope they will somehow redeem themselves. πŸ™‚ What? I’m creating healthy boundaries and enforcing them? Even with myself? πŸ˜€

I’m working on final edits for the book coming out October 21. Β Back to it.

  1. Woo hoo!! That’s the spirit. TTYL today. πŸ™‚

    • πŸ™‚

  2. This is all so positive! Cheering for you! And I know exactly what you mean about abandoning a book. We’re not in high school, there is no test, let it go. I don’t know how many books I have suffered through thinking it will get better, it has to be good if someone published it, right? nope.

    • Good point! Yes! If someone went to the trouble to edit and publish, it must have some merit… not necessarily.

  3. Very cool! The abandoning a book is hard for me too. With films, I have gotten better, I have a 10 minute rule. Love the new boundaries. xxoo TR

    • I like that 10 minute rule for movies. I need to try it. Thanks, TR!

  4. How exciting — all of it! Teaching writing will be quite the adventure πŸ™‚

    • Actually, nothing so vaunted. πŸ™‚ I’m teaching a short class on The Writer’s Environment. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been working on it for myself for a while, but this gives me incentive to focus my attention and explore a few things I might not have.
