This is for me…

This article was posted on FB. I’ve been struggling with some decisions about where I want to go with my career. I’ve mentioned it before here. There is the sensation of being at a crossroads. Do I step forward boldly or stay safe?

Should I choose to follow my dream… yes, I’ll be bold and call it my dream, there is the potential for falling flat on my face. A position to which I am well accustomed, but that doesn’t mean I have any desire to end up there again.

I’ve lived in faith all my life because there was no other way to survive the insanity. But am I willing to throw everything into my faith… into the arms of God…

A part of me shouts DO IT!

Another part of me remembers all the times I tried and failed.

I suppose, what’s one more failure?

  1. All of us will fail off and on many times in life (I got an entire college degree..a BA.. that was not used and is still not used… that’s one among many).. to me, the worst failings are moral ones. I know the other failures feel bad, to be sure. But if we don’t try new things, then nothing ever happens at all. I don’t know if that makes sense, hope so.

  2. Stepping forward into something that has the potential to fail takes a brave countenance, and a bit of hope, along with a dash of adventure.

The last time I did something like that was when I bought the house I’m living in right now. I knew that it had the potential to be great, but it also had the potential to set me up for a miserable failure. At some point in the process, I finally managed to turn off that voice of doom, and just made the decision to leap into the future, and see what happened. So far, so good.

I hope that as you continue to evaluate where you want to go, and how you might want to get there, that answers will become more clear to you, so that you can make an informed decision about your next move. Good luck. πŸ™‚

    • I am still so excited for you about your house. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the encouragement, ntexas99.

      • thank you … I’m still so excited for you that you are living the writing life … you are making that dream come true.

  3. I always try to remind myself that the only real failure is to not at least try.

    • A guaranteed failure… I have four months to pull it together… We’ll see what happens.
