2 am witching hour…

I confess, if I wake up at 2 a.m. I’m probably not going to sleep much more. I usually fight it and try to go back to sleep anyway. For the next month, I’m not fighting my sleeping schedule anymore. I will attempt to maintain a reasonably healthy schedule, which means at least a few hours of sleep before midnight. Something I read somewhere sometime. I will allow myself to sleep in the middle of the day for a few hours. We’ll see how it works out.

So, why do I wake up at 2 a.m.?

Exploding story in my head. Characters pop in. Plots unfold. Concepts solidify.

I’ve made it a habit to keep paper and pen available and write down ideas. However, sometimes they’re so powerful all desire for sleep vanishes.

And we are back to my old mantra “You might as well as ask me to stop breathing as to stop writing.”

**Follow up: I slept through the night last night. Difference? I turned on the fan, which kept my room cooler. Something so small…

    • I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t feel so much like a mindless zombie for most of the day. *I need a rolling eyes emoticon.*

  4. Exciting plots isn’t a bad reason to be awakened at night. πŸ™‚

I nominated you for a Versatile Blogger Award on my blog. I’m glad you’re blogging.
